- Sift together
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- Cream Well
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- Blend in
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 teaspoons rum extract
- Frosting
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon rum flavoring
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Step 1
Gradually add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Shape dough on lightly floured surface into log rolls, 1/2 inch in diameter. Cut in 3' pieces, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 350 degrees - 12 to 15 minutes, until light golden brown. Cool; ice tops and sides of cookies. Mark frosting with tines of fork to resemble bark. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.
FROSTING:
Add alternately with 2-3 T evaporated milk or cream (I used milk) Beat well until spreading consistency. Makes 3 dozen cookies.

NOTES : If dough is too sticky, cool in refrigerator until dough can be handled more easily.
