- 1/4 C FINELY CHOPPED SWEET ONION
- 4 T COLD BUTTER, DIVIDED
- 1/4 C WHITE BALSAMIC VINEGAR
- 1 C FLOUR
- 1 T SUGAR
- 1 1/2 t BAKING POWDER
- 1/4 GARLIC SALT
- 1/4 t PEPPER
- 1/8 /t CAYENNE PEPPER
- 1/2 C SHREDDED CHEDDER CHEESE
- 2 GREEN ONIONS, CHOPPED
- 1/4 C BUTTERMILK

IN SMALL SKILLET, SAUTE SWEET ONION IN 1 T BUTTER UNTIL TENDER.ADD VINEGAR; COOK AND STIR UNTIL LIQUID IS EVAPORATED. LET COOL.
IN A SMALL BOWL, COMBINE FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER AND SEASONINGS. CUT IN REMAINING BUTTER UNTIL MIXTURE RESEMBLES COARSE CRUMBS. ADD THE ONION MIXTURE, CHEESE AND GREEN ONIONS. STIR IN BUTTERMILK UNTIL JUST MOINTEDED.
TURN ONTO LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE, KNEAD 6-8 TIMES. PAT OR ROLL OUT A 1/2" THICKNESS, CUT WITH FLOURED 2 1/2" BISCUIT CUTTER. PLACE 2" APART ON GREASED COOKIE SHEET. BAKE AT 400* FOR 12-15 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. SERVE WARM
