Ingredients
- 2 C water
- 2 C low fat milk
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 C steel cut oats
- 2 T pure maple syrup
- 2 T cocoa powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp mutmeg
- 1/2 C pecan halves
- 1/2 C dried cherries
- 1 C fresh blueberries
- 1/3 C shredded coconut
Preparation
Step 1
In saucepan bring water, milk and salt to a boil, stir in oats. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in syrup,cocoa and spices. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes until creamy and stir in pecans and cherries. Serve in bowls and top with blueberries and coconut and remaining syrup. May reheat with a little milk.
