Ingredients

    eggs

  • 1

    cup salad oil

  • 2

    cups flour

  • 2

    cups sugar

  • 1

    teaspoon baking soda

  • 2

    teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/2

    teaspoon salt

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla

  • 1

    cup chopped nuts

  • 4

    cups finely chopped apples

Directions

Line a 9x13 baking pan with waxed paper. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl beat eggsuntil foamy. Add salad oil & sugar and stir until sugar dissolves. Sift flour with baking soda, cinnamon and salt & add to creamed mixture. Add in vanilla, nuts and apples. Pour into 9x13 prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes and 350 degree oven. When done, cool for 10 minutes, turn over onto cake cooling rack and remove axed paper. Turn right side up onto serving tray. *German Apple Cake Icing:* 2 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese 3 tablespoons melted butter 1 1/2-2 cups powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla Dash of salt Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth. If mixture is too thick for spreading, add a few drops of water. Spread onto cooled German Apple Cake.
