- 1/2 LB. BUTTER

- 1-1/2 PACKAGES ACTIVE DRY YEAST
Preparation
Step 1
TO MAKE FILLING:
Bring all ingredients to boil in sauce pan and cook until thick, stirring constantly. If using raisins (which I do) let raisins soak in warm water shortly before adding to above the last few minutes of cooking. Cool and store in fridge till ready to use if making rolls the following day. Let set at room temp before attemping to spread on dough.
TO MAKE DOUGH:
Combine 3 cups of flour, butter, sugar, and salt in mixing bowl. In separate bowl, beat eggs and sour cream and add to dough. Blend yeast with 1/2 cup warm milk and add to dough while slowing adding the remaining 3 cups of flour till it slightly climbs up the paddle. Roll out and fill leaving a 1 inch space around edges. Pinch and place seam side down, cover with clean towel and let rise for 1 hour. Brush with beaten egg and bake at 350 degrees 25-30 minutes till lightly brown. Cool.

This will yield 5 large, 6 medium, or 8 small. Freezes very well. This dough is beautiful to work with and uses little flour in the rolling process!!
