Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 6 oz cans tomato paste
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 c water
  • 1 Tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp white sugar
  • 12 oz cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb shredded mozzerella

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350

Cook beef and drain. cook onion till translucent. Combine both in a large saucepan with tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, water, oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and sugar. Cook over medium heat until it boils. Reduce heat to low and simmer 1 hour.

Blend cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, and egg till smooth.

Cook pasta 8-10 min till al dente.

Layer: 1 cup sauce, 3 noodles, 1/3 of the remaining sauce, 1/2 the mozzerella, 3 noodles, 1/3 of the sauce, cottage cheese mixture, 3 noodles, remaining sauce. Bake 30 min. Sprinkle remaining mozzerella on top and bake (or broil) 15 min longer.
