Ingredients

  • Cake:

  • 1

    box white cake mix

  • 4

    large egg whies

  • 1/2

    cup oil

  • 1

    cup water or milk

  • 1

    cup cream filled chocolate sandwich cookies, coarsely broken

  • Frosting:

  • 1/2

    cup Crisco shortening

  • 1

    stick butter, softened

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla

  • 4

    cups powdered sugar

  • 2

    tablespoons milk or cream

Directions

Cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9" round cake pans. Combine cake mix, egg whites, oil, and water or milk. Beat on low speed just until moistened. Then on medium speed, beat for two minutes. Fold in cookies. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake for 27 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans for about five minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely before frosting. Frosting: In large bowl, cream shortening, butter, and vanilla with electric mixer. On medium speed, gradually, add sugar, one cup at a time. Add milk or cream and beat until light and fluffy. Frost cake and store in refrigerator. Variation: Substitute any cream filled sandwich cookie (such as lemon, chocolate or peanut butter) in place of the cream filled chocolate sandwich cookies.
