Ingredients
- 4 cups ripe peaches .
- 1 cup melted butter
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 5 tsp. baking powder
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- Sugar mixture for topping (5 tsp. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon)
Preparation
Step 1
Pare and slice 4 cups peaches. Add 1/2 cup sugar and a dash of lemon juice; let peaches stand aside to create juiciness. Melt 1 cup butter in a 13X9X2 pan.
Mix 2 cups flour, 2 cups sugar and 5 tsps. fresh baking powder.
Add milk and beat with wire whisk. Pour batter mixture over butter.
Gently spoon peaches on top of the batter. Sprinkle with the sugar/cinnamon mixture.
Bake at 350* for 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes until batter rises to top and forms a golden brown crust. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. But, of course!!!!!
