Ingredients
- 1 C butter, softened
- 1 C shortening
- 2 C packed light brown sugar
- 1 C sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 1/2 C all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 C (12oz) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 C chopped pecans

Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (dough will be slightly sticky).
Drop by Tablespoonfuls 2 in apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350* for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
