- 1 cup sweet Marsala wine
- 1/3 cup oj
- 2 tbs packed brown sugar
- 3 oz Neufchatel, softened (1/3 c)
- 1 oz goat or blue cheese, crumbled (1/4 c)
- 1 tbs sliced almonds, chopped and toasted

Step 1
In a medium saucepan combine wine, oj, and sugar. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Boil gently, uncovered about 15 minutes or until reduced to about 1/3 cup.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl stir together cream cheese, blue or goat cheese, and milk. Cut each fig into quarters, leaving the fig attached at the bottom. (Or cut pears in half and core.) Drizzle some Marsala mixture onto each of 6 dessert plates. Top each plate with a fig. Spread fig open slightly. Spoon some of the cheese mixture into each fig and sprinkle with almonds. (Or spoon some cheese mixture onto each pear half and sprinkle with almonds.)
