Ingredients

  • ½ CUP OF SHORTENING (NEVER LARD)

  • ½ CUP OF BUTTER (VERY SOFT)

  • Cream BY HAND these together until well blended.

  • Add the following ingredients to the shortening and butter:

    TBS WARM WATER

  • 1

    TSP OF FLAVOURING (WE USE ½ TSP BUTTER FLAVOURING & ½ TSP VANILLA FLAVOURING)

  • Mix BY HAND all of the above together for about 30 seconds.

  • Add the following ingredients to the above mixture:

    TBS OF MERINGUE POWDER

  • 4

    CUPS OF ICING SUGAR (WE WEIGH THIS TO 454 GRAMS FOR BEST RESULTS)

Directions

Gently mix the icing sugar and meringue powder with the soft and liquid ingredients just enough so that when you use your electric mixture sugar won’t fly everywhere J Mix on low medium with electric mixer until blended. (ABOUT 30 – 40 SECONDS) Mix on medium speed for another minute. Mix on high for 30 seconds. Now you have a YUMMY icing with the perfect consistency for decorating cakes.
