Ingredients
- Add the following ingredients to the shortening and butter:
- ½ CUP OF SHORTENING (NEVER LARD)
- ½ CUP OF BUTTER (VERY SOFT)
- Cream BY HAND these together until well blended.
- 3 TBS WARM WATER
- 1 TSP OF FLAVOURING (WE USE ½ TSP BUTTER FLAVOURING & ½ TSP VANILLA FLAVOURING)
- Mix BY HAND all of the above together for about 30 seconds.
- Add the following ingredients to the above mixture:
- 1 TBS OF MERINGUE POWDER
- 4 CUPS OF ICING SUGAR (WE WEIGH THIS TO 454 GRAMS FOR BEST RESULTS)

Step 1
Gently mix the icing sugar and meringue powder with the soft and liquid ingredients just enough so that when you use your electric mixture sugar won’t fly everywhere J
Mix on low medium with electric mixer until blended. (ABOUT 30 – 40 SECONDS)
Mix on medium speed for another minute.
Mix on high for 30 seconds.
Now you have a YUMMY icing with the perfect consistency for decorating cakes.
