Ingredients

  • Add the following ingredients to the shortening and butter:
  • ½ CUP OF SHORTENING (NEVER LARD)
  • ½ CUP OF BUTTER (VERY SOFT)
  • Cream BY HAND these together until well blended.
  • 3 TBS WARM WATER
  • 1 TSP OF FLAVOURING (WE USE ½ TSP BUTTER FLAVOURING & ½ TSP VANILLA FLAVOURING)
  • Mix BY HAND all of the above together for about 30 seconds.
  • Add the following ingredients to the above mixture:
  • 1 TBS OF MERINGUE POWDER
  • 4 CUPS OF ICING SUGAR (WE WEIGH THIS TO 454 GRAMS FOR BEST RESULTS)

Step 1

Gently mix the icing sugar and meringue powder with the soft and liquid ingredients just enough so that when you use your electric mixture sugar won’t fly everywhere J

Mix on low medium with electric mixer until blended. (ABOUT 30 – 40 SECONDS)
Mix on medium speed for another minute.

Mix on high for 30 seconds.
Now you have a YUMMY icing with the perfect consistency for decorating cakes.
