- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2/3 cup lime juice
- 1 TBS lime zest
- 2 cups milk, cold
- 2 drops green food coloring (option)

Step 1
1) Heat sugar and water in a small saucepan, stirring frequently, until the sugar has completely dissolved. This is a sugar syrup and it will help your sherbet have a smooth texture.
2) Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the lime juice and zest. Refrigerate the mixture until it is completely chilled.
3) Stir the milk and green food coloring in to the chilled lime mixture.
4) Churn according to your ice cream maker's directions.
5) Store in an airtight container in the freezer. Allow it to set for at least an hour before serving.
