Onion Bread

Ingredients

  • Dissolve together:
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 cup of margarine
  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 2 tsp. paprika
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 cups of flour

Preparation

Step 1

To yeast and water mixture add 1 cup of flour. Beat with mixer until bubbly then add remaining flour until dough leaves sides of bowl. Knead about 5 minutes (until dough is elastic). Let rise, covered, until doubled. Punch down. Divide and press into 2 8x9" cake pans which have been greased. Let rise uncovered after brushing with margarine. Put on onionss and dent with fingertips. Add 1/2 tsp. salt and paprika. Sprinkle on.

Bake at 450 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
