MAPLE TARTS

This is one of my VERY favorite Christmas baking items from my mother.. I rarely make them - she does a much better job!!

Ingredients

  • SHORTBREAD PASTRY:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • FILLING:
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup graham crumbs
  • 1 cup crushed walnuts
  • 1 cup coconut
  • ICING
  • Icing sugar
  • butter
  • maple flavoring

Preparation

Step 1

PASTRY:

Blend all ingredients and roll pastry. Line tart tins with pastry - work with hands

FILLING:

Bring sugar, butter and milk to a boil. Add crumbs, walnuts and coconut.

Fill tartsw an dbak at 350 for 15 minutes. Cool.

Make frosting and frost cooled tarts
