Buttermilk Batter Bream
- 2 pounds bream fillets or pan-dressed bream
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups Ritz crackers crushed to meal
- 1/2 cup flour
- Peanut oil for frying
In a small bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Add buttermilk and mix.
In a zip-seal plastic bag, shake together the cracker meal and flour.
Dip fish in buttermilk mix, then drop in the zip-seal bag, seal and shake to coat.
Fry the fish until golden brown and flaky in peanut oil heated to 375 degrees.
