Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 vanilla bean, split and use the seeds
- 6 eggs, separated
- 3 cups cake flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup sour cream
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 325*
Mix the dry ingredients and set aside.
First beat the egg whites, adding 2 tblsp of the sugar until peaks are formed. Then set the egg whites in another bowl till ready to use. Now cream the butter and sugar till fluffy. Then add the vanilla seeds. Add the egg yolks one at a time till they are very light. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the sour cream. Begin and end with flour mixture. Now gently fold in the egg whites. Pour into a prepaired bundt pan.
Bake for 1 to 1-1/4 hour until it comes out clean when tested.
