Ingredients
- 2 c. long-grain rice
- 3 c. water for 15 minutes
- 2 TB vegetable oil
- 2 lbs. ground beef, chicken or turkey (not turkey breast)
- 1 small green bell pepper, minced
- 1 small onion, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 stalks celery, minced
- 2 (15 oz.) cans diced tomatoes, with liquid
- 1 (6-oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 1/2 TB Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- Dash Tabasco sauce

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a saucepan over medium heat; bring rice and water to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 15-18 minutes. Remove from heat; set aside.
In a skillet over medium heat; brown ground beef in oil with bell pepper, onion, garlic and celery. Cook until vegetables are tender and beef is cooked through. Transfer into a mixing bowl. Add rice and remaining ingredients. Transfer mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover and bake 35-40 minutes.
Serves 6-8.
