Poppy-Seed Pinwheels

These make lovely looking golden spirals. Taste is light.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) can crescent rolls
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup french-fried onions
  • 1 tblsp poppy seeds
  • Preheat oven to 400°. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Unroll crescent dough. Press together any performations.

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, onions, and poppy seeds, mixing well. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over crescent dough, leaving a 1-inch border along one long side. Roll dough over filling toward border, jelly-roll style. Place seam side down. Slice into 1/2-inch pieces. Place pinwheels 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Bake until lightly golden, 10 to 12 minutes. (Makes 24 pinwheels if you can cut them a 1/2 inch thick).
