c milk, scalded
c warm water
Mix shortening, sugar & salt into scalded milk; cool. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c warm water. Add egg & yeast mixture to cooled milk mixture. Add flour to above & mix until soft dough forms. Turn out on floured board and knead. Place kneaded dough in greased bowl, cover & let rise til doubled. Punch down and knead again. Form into rolls. Place in greased baking pan. Cover, place in warm area & allow to double in size. Bake at 400 for 15-20 minutes.
