Malay Grilled Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 piece of fresh ginger, about 3/4 inch
  • 1/2 small onion (1 oz) peeled
  • 2 medium garlic cloves, peeled and crushed with the flat of a knife
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs honey
  • 2 ts fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ts ground coriander
  • freshly ground pepper
  • 1 pound pork filet, trimmed and cut into on inch pieces.

Preparation

Step 1

Make marinade:
Using food processor, finely chop garlic. Add onion and finely chop. Add remaining ingredients except the pork and pulse 3-5 times to mix.

Put the pork and marinade in a large plastic storage bag and turn several times to coat. Marinate at room temperature for 2 hours, turning the bag occasionally.

Heat a grill. Remove pork from marinade and place on skewers. Reserve the marinade. Lightly oil the grill and place the skewers on it. Grill over hot coals for about 5 min per side, brushing with the reserved marinade.
