Ingredients
- Filling:
- 1 unbaked pie crust
- ...............................
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup onion -- chopped
- 1/4 cup green pepper -- chopped
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- ...............................
- Cheese topping:
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded (2 cups)
- 1 whole egg -- beaten
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Brown beef in small amounts of fat. Drain fat. Mix in rest of ingredients except topping. Spread in pastry-lined pie pan. Mix cheese toppings ingredients together. Spread toppings over filling. Bake about 30 minutes. Serve in wedges with sauce (equal amounts of chili sauce and tomato sauce).
