Butter Tart Squares

These taste just like buttertarts without the fiddling with individual tarts! Very rich!

Ingredients

  • FOR BASE:
  • 1 c flour
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 c butter
  • FOR TOPPING:
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 c packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 c raisins

Preparation

Step 1

FOR CRUST: In bowl combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter with pastry knife until crumbly. Press into ungreased 9x9 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 min.

FOR FILLING:
In bowl mix butter and eggs, blend in sugar, flour, baking powder, vanilla and salt. Stir in raisins then pour over base. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 20-25 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
