CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES

My mother made these cookies at Christmas each year. With a glass of cold milk they are impossible to resist!

Ingredients
- 1 cup Crisco shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 6-oz. pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
Step 1
1. Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and beat until well blended.
2. Add flour, backing soda, salt, vanilla, oats, pecans and chocolate chips.
3. Drop batter 1" apart by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 12-15 minutes or until nicely browned.
