Ingredients

• 1/2 c shortening ( part margarine)
• 1 c sugar
• 1 egg
• 3/4 c sour milk (milk and 1 1/2 tsp vinegar or lemon juice)
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 3/4 c flour
• 1/2 tsp soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/2 c cocoa

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening, egg, & sugar together. Stir in sour milk, and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients and add to batter along with cocoa. Mix well. Drop by teaspoons 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Cook at 375 degrees oven for 8-10 minutes.
