Blonde Brownies or Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/4 C shortening
  • 1 1/2 C brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 C sifted flour
  • 1 cup nuts or amount desired, optional

Preparation

Step 1

Mix well, spread in pans. Bake at 350° and cut into squares.
