Buttercream icing

Wilton's class buttercream icing. (stiff consistency)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup solid white vegetable shortening
  • 1 tsp. Wilton flavor (almond or vanilla)
  • 2 Tbs. milk or water
  • 4 cups confectioner's sugar
  • 1 Tbs. Wilton meringue powder
  • pinch of salt

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening, flavoring and water. Add dry ingredients and mix on medium speed until all ingredients have been thoroughly mixed together. Blend an additional minute or so until creamy.
