Weekend French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk or half/half
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla
  • 1-3 tbsp rum
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 8 1/2 slices of day old French bread

Preparation

Step 1

1. Wisk milk, salt, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, rum and sugar until smooth.

2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat.

3. Soak bread slices in mixture until saturated.

4. Cook bread on each side for a couple of minutes until golden brown.

5. Serve with maple syrup and butter.
