Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 12-oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped

Preparation

Step 1

1. In large bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugars; beat in egg and vanilla.

2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; stir into butter mixture, mixing well.

3. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

4. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto greased baking sheets.

5. Bake in 350 oven 8-10 minutes, just until edges are golden (centers will still be soft).

6. Remove to wire racks to cool.
