Ingredients

  • Cake layer:

  • 2

    cups all purpose flour

  • 2

    teaspoon baking powder

  • 1

    cup sugar

  • 1/8

    tsp salt

  • 1/2

    c butter

  • 1

    cup milk

  • 2

    beaten eggs

  • 2

    tsp vanilla

  • Fruit layer

  • fresh or frozen unsweetened fruit of choice-apples, peaches, berries, apricots, plums, etc.

  • Topping

  • 1/4

    c melted butter

  • 3/4

    c all purpose flour

  • 3/4

    c sugar

Directions

Blend flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and butter in a large bowl. Stir in milk, eggs, and vanilla. Spread in a well greased jelly roll pan (17x11x1"). Cover with fruit of choice. Combine topping ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit and bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes. Yields: 40 squares.
