White Sauce

Sauce for chowders, gravy, scallops

Ingredients

  • For each cup sauce:
  • 1 Tblsp. butter
  • 1/2 to 1 Tblsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 C. milk
  • add ons
  • Cheese
  • curry powder
  • Dill
  • Horseradish

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring untill mixture is smoothe and bubbly Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
