Ingredients

  • 2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 whole vanilla bean pod
  • 2 cup fresh cherries, pits removed; cut in quarters

Preparation

Step 1

In mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, milk and sugar. Stir until sugar
completely dissolves. Stir in vanilla. Split vanilla bean using point of
sharp knife. Scrape seeds from pod and add to mixture. Add cherries. Stir
to mix.

Pour mixture into ice cream maker and follow manufacturer's directions for
processing and churning the ice cream.

Spoon soft ice cream into freezer safe container and freeze for four hours
or overnight before serving.

Makes one quart or 8 servings.
