Ingredients
- 2 cups canola oil
- 1 whole chicken, cut up, or one family size package of drumsticks
- 2 cups white whole-wheat flour (I use King Arthur flour, which makes the best fried chicken in my opinion)
- Lawry's Seasoned Salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 cups milk
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oil in an electric skillet set at 350 degrees. Cut up a whole chicken into 10 pieces or just take the drumsticks and place them in a shallow plastic storage container with milk or buttermilk, which adds a little extra flavor.
Place flour, seasoning salt and black pepper ina clean paper grocery bag. Drop milk-coated chicken pieces in the bag and shake (carefully; the more pieces you have, the more hte bag will want to tear).
Place coated chicken pieces in hot oil and cook 14 minute son a side. Drain on a paper towel-covered plate.
