Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake

Ingredients

• 1-12 oz. pkg. large milk chocolate chips
• 1 3/4 cups boiling water
• 1 cup uncooked oatmeal
• 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup margarine
• 2 large eggs
• 1 3/4 cups flour
• 2 T. cocoa
• 1 tsp. soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 3/4 cup chopped nuts(optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Add oatmeal to boiling water. Let stand for 10 min. Add brown sugar and white sugar and margarine. Stir till margarine melts. Add eggs. Mix well. Stir in flour, salt, soda and cocoa. Mix well. Add 1/2 pkg. chips. Pour batter into greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle remaining chips on top. Bake @ 350 degrees about 35-40 min.
