Ingredients

  • Beef:

  • 1

    lb ground beef

  • 1

    medium onion, chopped

  • 1

    can tomato soup

  • 1

    C water

  • 1/4

    tsp salt

  • 1

    Tbs chili powder

  • 1

    C whole corn, drained

  • Topping:

  • 3/4

    C corn meal

  • 1

    Tbs flour

  • 1

    Tbs sugar

  • 1/2

    tsp salt

  • 1 1/2

    tsp baking powder

  • 1

    egg, beaten

  • 1/3

    C milk

  • 1

    Tbs oil

Directions

Meat: Saute beef and onion until brown. Add remaining ingredients, simmer for 15 minutes. Pour into greased 2 qt casserole dish. Topping: Combine dry ingredients. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over meat mixture in dish. Bake at 425* for 20-25 minutes, until cornbread is brown.
