Red White and Blue Muffins Mix and muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 T baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup dried sweetened cranberries
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup dried blueberries
  • Muffins
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tap vanilla
  • 1 jar muffin mix (see ingredients above)

Preparation

Step 1

Muffin mix:
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Stir well. Pour into 1-quart wide-mouth jar with tight fitting lid. Pack down well. Add sugar, cranberries, chips and blueberries. Pack down lightly after each layer. Seal jar.
Cover top of jar with fabric. Attach fight tag to jar with ribbon

Muffins:
preheat oven to 350. Line 12 cup muffin pan with paper liners, or coat with nonstick cooking spay; set aside
Combine milk, butter, egg and vanilla in large bowl. Add contents of jar, stir just until moistened. Divide batter evenly amount muffin cups.

Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Transfer muffins to wire rack to cool 10 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
