Garlic-Jalapeño Turkey Sliders

  • 4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 oz. whole garlic cloves (about 8)
  • 2 large jalapeños, seeded
  • 1/2 cup red onion slices
  • 3 oz. shredded extra-sharp Vermont cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 8 slider buns

Preparation

Step 1

Finely mince garlic and jalapeños together.

In a large bowl, gently combine the minced jalapeños and garlic with the ground turkey: mix until just blended (do not overmix).

Divide the turkey mixture into 8 equal portions (about 3oz. each) and using wet hands, shape each portion into a 3-inch wide patty.

Heat cast iron pan over medium-hgh heat for about a minute. Mist pan with cooking spray; let heat for an additional minute.

Sauté red onion slices in pan until tender, about 3-5 minutes: set aside.

Add patties to pan and cook until juices run clear when pressed down with a spatula (3 minutes per side.)

While patties are cooking, toast buns.

To assemble sliders, spread a thin amount of mayonnaise on the bottom half of a bun; place patty on top; then top with grilled onions, shredded cheese and bun.

Serve with ketchup.
