Crab Casserole with Artichoke hearts

This was my grandmother's artichoke crab casserole and was a frequent sunday lunch.

Ingredients

  • 3 T flour
  • 3 T Butter
  • 1 c milk
  • 1/2 c dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1/2 c shredded Sharp cheddar cheese (or swiss)
  • 2 t worchestershire sauce
  • 2 8 oz package of artichoke hearts frozen - cooked
  • 4 hard boiled eggs
  • 3/4 lb crab (or chicken)
  • 2 T parmesan

Preparation

Step 1

melt butter in a pan, add flour and cook roue for a few minutes. Whisk in milk and wine/broth stirring constantly until smooth.Add cheese and worchestershire sauce cook until cheese is melted.

Spoon a little sauce in bottom of 1 1/2 qt casserole dish. Alternate layers of artichoke hearts, sliced boiled eggs and crabs. Layer with 1/2 of sauce and repeat topping with sauce. top with parmesan and bake uncovered 30 minutes at 350.
