Grandma's Chicken Fricasee

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg skin-on chicken fryer pieces
  • 2-4 pints heavy whipping cream
  • butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • flour
  • other seasonings

Preparation

Step 1

Wash and dry pre-cut, skin-on chicken fryer. Put flour, salt, pepper, and other seasonings in a bag and put in chicken. Shake to coat. Put chicken in frying pan and brown with butter, salt, and pepper, approximately 10 mins. Place chicken in a broiler pan with 1/8 - 1/4 cup water. Cover and bake at 325 for 1 hour. After this, take off cover, add 2-4 pints heavy whipping cream, salt, and pepper. Stir to cover. Bake 30-60 mins, turning every 10 mins. When cream is thickened and seasoning is good, it's done. Serve over hearty bread or mashed potatoes.
