BSF Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 head of iceburg lettuce
  • 2 bunches of red or other lettuce
  • 1 lb. bacon, cooked, crumbled
  • 2 bags slivered almonds
  • 4 Tbsp. plus 1 t. sugar
  • large can mandarin oranges, drained
  • large can french fried onions
  • DRESSiNG can be made ahead of time except for oil. Put all ingredients in tupperware bowl, put on lid and shake
  • 5 T vinegar
  • 4 T honey
  • 2 T. grated onion
  • 1 T. lemon juice
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 t. celery salt
  • 1 t. paprika
  • 1 t. pepper
  • 1 cup oil (add only when ready to serve)

Preparation

Step 1

All ingredients are added to the bowl. (The almonds should be browned in a skillet on low heat with sugar
when sugar has dissolved, it's done. ). Add rest of salad ingredients.

When ready to serve, add oil to dressing and pour over the salad.
