- 2 Tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 Cup celery, diced
- 2 Medium white onions, diced
- 3/4 Cup ketchup
- 1/4 Cup dark molasses
- 1/4 Cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 Cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 Cup water
- 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 3 Tablespoons steak sauce
- 2 Tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 Teaspoon kosher or sea salt
- 1 (28-ounces) can BUSH'S® Homestyle Baked Beans
Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat barbecue grill to hot (400–450°F).
2. Brush ribs with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and place directly on a hot grill until both sides are nicely browned with grill marks.
3. Pour remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a heavy cast-iron or metal pot and saute celery and onions until both are softened and just beginning to brown.
4. Combine ketchup, molasses, both vinegars, sugar, water, Worcestershire and steak sauces, mustard, and salt in a small bowl and stir well.
5. Put the ribs in a large pot and cover with barbecue-sauce mixture. Set the pot on the grill and close the lid.
6. Open vents to reduce heat to 350°F, and cook at least two hours.
7. Heat BUSH’S® Homestyle Baked Beans in a covered pot on a stovetop. Serve short ribs with a generous helping of Baked Beans on the side.
