STRAWBERRY JAM # 4 - FREEZER TYPE

Ingredients

  • 5 cups strawberries
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice, fresh or bottled
  • 3 oz. liquid fruit pectin

Preparation

Step 1

Mash strawberries to yield 1-3/4 cups. Combine with sugar in bowl. Let stand 10 minutes.

Add lemon juice and liquid pectin to fruit mixturer. Stir continually for 3 minutes. Spoon into containers and cover. Leave 1 inch space at top of container to allow for expansion when frozen. Cover. Let stand for up to 24 hours at room temperature until set. Freeze. Chill jam once opened.

FREEZER RASPBERRY JAM: Use 2 cups mashed raspberries instead of strawberries.
