Ingredients
- chili sauce:
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- dried onion flakes
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 2 T minced celery
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 3/4 cup canned crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chili sauce*
- 1/2 T mustard
- 1/2 T brown sugar
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1 T dry breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3 T water
- tomato paste/puree, brown sugar or corn syrup, vinegar, minced onion, chili powder, salt, Worcestershire sauce, allspice, cloves, garlic, pepper flakes
Preparation
Step 1
Brown ground beef with a sprinkling of onion flakes and green pepper. Drain.
Add ketchup, tomatoes, chili sauce, mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and water. Simmer, uncovered for 20-30 minutes.
