  • 6 T butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 t nutmeg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 cups fruit

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt butter in a 8 inch square or 2 qt baking dish. In a bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg. Stir in sugar until combined well. Add milk and whisk until just combined. Pour batter into melted butter. DO NOT STIR-doesn't go all the way to the edge. Pour fruit into center of batter. DO NOT STIR. Bake in middle of oven for 40 minutes.
