A round cake pan is 3/4 the volume of a square cake pan of the same size. To determine the volume of a square pan, multiply the volume of a round pan of the same diameter by 1.33

To determine volume of an odd shaped pan, use a liquid measure to pour water into the pan until it reaches the brim
