Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 c. chopped parsley .
  • 2 tbsp.· chop,ped fresh basil
  • 1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 c. tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 1 tbsp. capers, rinsed
  • 1/4 tsp. each sugar, lemon pepper
  • and salt
  • 2 to 3 lbs. swordfish or halibut
  • steaks

Preparation

Step 1

Grease a 13-by-9-inch baking dish. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Heat oil in small saucepan. Saute garlic, parsley, basil and mushrooms 3 to 5 minutes.
Stir in tomato sauce, lemon juice, water capers, sugar, lemon pepper and salt; cook 5 minutes.
Arrange fish steaks in single layer in prepared baking dish. Pour sauce over fish. Bake at 400 degrees 10 minutes per inch of thickness or until fish flakes easily.
