German Chocolate Upside Down Cake

Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 1 can coconut pecan frosting
  • Filling:
  • 1- 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 C powdered sugar
  • Cake:
  • 1 Pkg German Chocolate cake mix
  • 1 1/4 C water
  • 1/3 C oil
  • 3 eggs

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Spread frosting in bottom of ungreased 9 X 13 pan. In small bowl, combine all filling ingredients until well blended; beat at high speed until smooth.
3. Spread filling over frosting.
4. In large bowl, combine all cake ingredients at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at high speed. Pour batter over filling.
5. Bake for 42-52 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let stand 2 minutes; loosen edges wtih knife and invert onto serving plate. Leave pan over cake 5 minutes; remove pan. Store in refrigerator.
