Ingredients

  • 1 medium red cabbage diced
  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp. caraway seeds
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup port wine
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 Granny Smith apple
  • 1 small Yukon gold potato
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • s & p

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients in a bowl except apple, potato, and orange juice, and marinate over night. When ready for braising, grate the apple and potato into the cabbage mixture. Put all of this into a sauce pan with the orange juice. Cook over low heat covered for 45 minutes, or until it reaches desired consistency. Serve immediately
