Ingredients
- 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated (2.5 ounces)
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
- 1 large egg beaten with 2 tablespoons water
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425°. Butter 2 baking sheets. In bowl, combine cheese, pepper, cumin, and salt. On lightly floured surface, roll out pastry into 10"x16" rectangle; brush with egg wash. Cut pastry in half to form two 10"x8" pieces. Sprinkle with cheese mixture. Using sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut 1/4" strips lengthwise. Arrange about 1 1/2" apart on baking sheets. Press one end onto sheet, twist slightly to desired effect; press remaining end onto sheet. Repeat until all strips have been twisted. Bake in batches on middle rack of oven until golden, about 10 minutes.
