Chile and Cheese Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tea. salt
  • 3/4 tea. hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 te3a. pepper
  • 8 oz. pkg. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 7 oz. can diced mild green chiles
  • 1 refrigerated 9" deep dish pie crust (do not thaw)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Heat oil in medium skillet. Add onion. Cover and cook until just tender, stirring often, about 5 minutes. Cool briefly.

Whisk cream and next 4 ingredients in bowl to blend. Mix in cheese, chiles, and onion mixture. Pour filling into frozen crust.

Bake tarty until golden brown and set in center, about 40 minutes.
