Ingredients
- 1 thin, crusty baguette
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (optional)
- 1 clove garlic, peeled
- 1 cup coarsely grated Parmesan
Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oven to 400°. Cut baguette at a sharp angle into l 1/2-inch slices. Spread both sides with butter, if desired, and place on a baking sheet.
2. Toast in oven until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
3. Rub garlic clove on one side of each toast and top with a sprinkling of cheese. Return to oven and toast
until cheese is crisp and golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Turn heat down to 350° if toast begins to brown too fast. Serve warm or at room temperature.
